Emergency Drill Training Announcement

posted in: News and Events | 0

On Friday, March 15th, an emergency drill will be conducted by the Ennis Police Department and Ennis Schools. This drill is part of the schools’ ALICE training, covering Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate procedures. This will not be an “active shooter” drill.

The drill will take place outside of regular school hours, coinciding with the Friday PIR (Pupil Instruction Related) day. Several high school student volunteers will be participating for their community service hours as well as the school staff. During the drill, road closures may be implemented in the vicinity of Madison Ave and West Hugel Street, and school buses may be visible throughout the day in town.

These drills serve various purposes, including enhancing emergency preparedness, reducing risks, familiarizing participants with procedures, and fostering empowerment and confidence.

Overall, school safety drills are vital for ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and the entire school community.

Do not be alarmed we are training for an event we hope will never occur.
