Dog licenses can be obtained at Ennis Town Hall, located at 328 West Main Street, Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 4 PM.

Fees:

  • $10 – Spayed/Neutered
  • $20 – Unaltered

Please provide proof of an up-to-date rabies vaccination for all newly registered dogs or any dog with a current vaccination update. Licenses must be renewed annually at the start of each calendar year. Late fees will accrue if the license is not obtained by February 1.

Do I need to license my dog in Ennis?

Apply for a Kennel License

A kennel license may be issued as an alternative to individual animal licensing for applicants who breed, harbor, or keep more than three (3) dogs for commercial purposes, in association with a valid Town business license. The following requirements must be met prior to issuance:

Kennel License Requirements:

  1. A current Town business license must be issued to the applicant.
  2. A completed written application must be submitted to the Town Clerk, including the applicant’s name, physical and mailing address, the number of dogs currently at the facility, and the maximum number of dogs anticipated.
  3. Proof of current rabies vaccinations for all animals at the facility must be provided with the application.
  4. A completed adjacent neighbor notification form must be submitted to the Town Clerk and kept on file. This requirement is required only once and may be waived for renewals.
  5. A $50.00 fee must accompany the kennel license application.
